Following procedure explains how to set the fonts as a default by over writing the default.txt file.
1.Open a blank schematic file
2.Setup-Font, choose desired
3.Tools-Options, select the Text branch, set font parameters
4.File-Export and browse to the following location: C:\MentorGraphics\(version)PADS\SDD_HOME\Settings. Leave the export name as default.txt
5.Click Save
6.Within the ASCII output dialog, click Select All
7.Click OK
8.Close PADS Logic, open it back up again and begin a new design, the desired font should now be set as default.
Alternatively, you can make a copy of the existing default.txt file in the Settings folder and edit the file directly in Notepad.  The section at the top of the file has entries for font height and width for items such as:
Pin Names - PINNAMESIZE
Reference Designators - REFNAMESIZE
Part Type Names - PARTNAMESIZE
Pin Numbers - PINNOSIZE
Net Names - NETNAMESIZE
The values that follow the entries in the default.txt file are font height and line width in mils units.
